A MAN has been arrested after a passer-by found a victim of a suspected stabbing.
The incident happened in the Haughton Green area of Darlington on Friday morning.
The victim, in his 20s, was helped by a passer-by close to the Highland Laddie at about 2.30am.
On Friday evening, Durham Police said that a man in his 30s had been arrested on suspicion of assault and was in police custody.
Officers placed a cordon outside the pub earlier in the day.
The alleged victim is in a stable condition and his injuries are described as non-life-threatening.
Detective Sergeant John Tyers, of Darlington CID, said: "Enquiries are ongoing but we not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident at this time.
"We hope this reassures local residents."
