A SCHEME has been launched to encourage good health among adults.

The Great Activity Challenge is aimed at increasing the levels of physical activity among people aged 16 and over.

Events will take place across Sedgefield borough in the next ten weeks to encourage people to be more active and help residents maintain a healthier lifestyle.

Sedgefield Mayor Sarah Iveson said: "It is so important that we maintain a healthy borough and there are so many activities in which people can become involved.

This challenge is an opportunity to find out what is available and to try something new."

Activities are varied and suit all ages and levels of fitness. Residents who register through Sedgefield Borough Council, could win a year's free membership to a local leisure club and a DVD player.
