FUNDRAISERS are preparing to stage a Last Night of the Proms-style concert to raise money for a cancer charity.
Fishburn Brass Band will be joining the celebrations at Spennymoor Town Hall, at 7.30pm, on Saturday, in an event organised by Cancer Research UK's Neville's Cross Group of Friends.
Doors open at 7pm and there will be a raffle and bar.
Lindsay Kay, the charity's UK community fundraiser, said: "We are delighted that our fundraisers in Neville's Cross are holding this fantastic event again.
"A huge thank-you too to Fishburn Brass Band for providing their wonderful entertainment free of charge."
These include research to devise new and more effective treatments, and research into inherited forms of the disease.
Cancer Research UK spends more than £2m on research projects at Newcastle University.
Tickets cost £5.00 and are available by calling Greta Hodgson on 0191-3844731 or 01388-817589, or also at the door
