FRIENDS of a primary school gave more than £12,000 worth of equipment to pupils last year.
Members of Force (the Friends of Richmond Church of England Primary School) heard at the annual meeting that £4,000 had been given towards computer equipment last year, along with more than £8,000 for enhancing the Key Stage Two playground with a quiet area and decking.
This year Force, which is a registered charity, has pledged £5,000 to help redevelop the foundation stage outdoor area for reception and nursery children.
Di Robinson, headteacher, said: "I am delighted to work with Force. They play a vital role in school and arrange events that can involve and stimulate the children, as well as raise funds for school."
Force chairwoman Caroline Scotting said: "We have a great team who give up their own time to attend meetings, plan and run many events that benefit both the school and the children who attend here. We also welcome any ideas and support from parents, grandparents or carers."
Anyone willing to help can contact the school on 01748-822104.
A Christmas fair will be held at the school on December 7 and planning has begun for next year's summer fair.
