THREE friends clocked up the miles for charity during an 11-hour fundraising stint.
Rob Smith, 25, Mark Wilks, 28, and Alan Rice, 30, all from Redcar, completed the 25-mile hike in aid of Redcar Lifeboat Station.
The trio started their trek from the station, walking along Cleveland Way, and finishing at Whitby's lifeboat station.
And their efforts managed to raise £400 for the local cause.
During their journey, one lady from Hummersea, near Loftus, gave the friends a welcome rest by offering them a cup of tea and a £10 donation.
Mr Smith said: "My dad and I have got a boat and got stranded after one of the engines broke down and the lifeboat towed us back.
"It was after that that I said I would do something for them.
"We're pleased with the money - the original target was £200.
