A MAN has suffered head injuries after being hit by a white Jaguar driven by a 21-year-old who later arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
The 33-year-old pedestrian was injured following the incident on Grange Road in Hartlepool at 3.55am on Saturday.
He was taken to Middlesbrough's James Cook University Hospital following the collision where he is being treated for head injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "Following the collision, the 21-year-old male driver of the Jaguar was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, dangerous driving and failing to stop and he has been released under investigation."
