PLAYING in a band has paid dividends for four young musicians from Thirsk.
Ten-year-olds Morven Hall, Emily Stott and Ella Wheeler, and 11-year-old Martha Barber all have private music lessons and get plenty of practice playing with Thirsk Royal British Legion Band.
They have now gained distinction in their music exams.
Emily said: "Playing with the band is great fun and has definitely helped my playing."
The band will hold an open day on Saturday, October 13, at the Old Courthouse, in Thirsk, from 11am to 1pm.
