A dedicated employment and training office has opened.
Redcar MP Vera Baird helped launch the facility, in Redcar, on Friday.
Training company Avanta, which has had a base in the town since 2002, has opened the new facility to offer more services.
These include self-employment and new business start-up support programmes.
Mrs Baird said: "I welcome any private sector organisation that is committed to delivering sustainable employment solutions for the people of Redcar.
"I wish Avanta every success and feel they have an important role to play in bringing further prosperity to my constituents."
Janette Faherty, of Avanta, said: "Whether you are a budding entrepreneur, simply looking for the right type of training and support in order to get back into employment, or seeking to improve your skills, our Redcar office now offers a high quality service, helping both individuals and organisations to achieve their goals."
The Redcar office, in Queen Street, will deliver programmes providing support, advice and guidance. It will cater for unemployed and self-employed people in the town.
