A SEVEN-year-old girl is in hospital with serious injuries after an arson attack on a house in Darlington today, Saturday.
A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of arson following the fire in Esk Road at about 1.50pm.
Police, fire crews and paramedics attended the blaze.
The girl was taken to James Cook University Hospital before being transferred to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary. Her condition is described as stable.
The other occupants of the house were checked over by medical professionals and later released.
Police said they believed the arson attack to be an isolated incident.
A joint police and fire investigation into the cause of the blaze is underway.
