HORDES of bikers took to the roads to spread festive cheer across Teesside.
The popular Boundary 500 Motorcycle Club’s annual Christmas run saw more than 100 bikers dressed in Santa outfits take to two wheels to raise thousands of pounds for charity.
The bikers met in Thornaby and rode an established route travelling through, Stockton, Middlesbrough, Redcar seafront before finishing at Kirkleatham Hall for refreshments.
Upon arrival at Kirkleatham Hall, the Cleveland Police Band and Guisborough Ladies choir performed a selection of festive songs.
The cavalcade was led by a fire engine and escorted by Cleveland and Durham Police’s Motorcycle unit.
An open double decker bus carrying local dignitaries followed the procession.
Since its inception in 2006 when 28 hardy bikers braved the November weather, the run has grown hugely in popularity, becoming a much-anticipated event for the bikers taking part and crowds of people who line the streets to watch the spectacle.
The run now regularly attracts more than 100 bikers and raises thousands of pounds for Zoe’s Place baby hospice in Middlesbrough.
Since 2006 it has raised more than £270,000 for the facility.
