CYCLISTS, ramblers, riders and runners took part in the fifth annual Milk Stout Ride yesterday.
Most competitors took part in a 15-mile bike ride around Hamsterley Forest, in County Durham. Others opted for a six or 25-mile route, one of two walks or a horse riding obstacle course and trek.
Only two runners took part in a fell run which was down on numbers because it clashed with the Great North Run.
More than 140 people took part in the various disciplines which raised money for Macmillan Cancer Care.
The event was organised by Hamsterley Trailblazers cycling club, Teesdale District Council's cycling development officer, Oliver Graham, and forest staff.
Recreation ranger, Neil Taylor, said: "It is a good event and fits in with all our efforts to increase visitor numbers to the forest - which is more than just a timber producer - and charity, health and community activities."
