EXPERTS are to give advice on environmental issues at a Fairtrade Green Market in Thirsk.
The market will be based at Rural Arts, in Westgate, and will feature local organic and Fairtrade sellers.
There will be clothes, food and gifts on sale between 10am and 4pm, on Saturday.
Shoppers will be able to canvass advice from local charities on a host of environmental issues too.
The idea came from an exhibition of photographs taken by Karen Lennox, called Valley of the Wise.
The exhibition will run at Rural Arts from today until the end of the month, and shows the Rishi Valley in India.
It manages to show that through education the locals have managed to improve their standard of life.
It led Angela Hall, the director of rural arts, to dream up the green market to raise the awareness of such schemes.
