LOIS Maxwell who played Miss Moneypenny in the early James Bond films has died aged 80.
The Canada-born actress - described as ''perfectly cast'' - in her role as the secret service secretary who was passionate for 007.
She starred in 14 Bond films playing alongside Sean Connery in the spy's first outing Dr No in 1962 and ending with 1985's A View To A Kill with Sir Roger Moore.
The actress died yesterday in Fremantle Hospital, Fremantle near Perth, Western Australia.
According to reports, the star had moved to Australia to be with her son after being diagnosed with cancer.
