OFFENDERS who think they have got away with their crimes are to be the target of a police initiative.
The neighbourhood support team Week of Action is being held across the Ripon and Harrogate areas.
The aim is to reduce the number of outstanding crimes using intelligence and catch wanted people who have so far avoided arrest.
The teams will be making use of intelligence collected during Operation Impact, which involves neighbouring forces.
Inspector John Downham said: "Operation Impact was intended to leave a sustained legacy of reduced criminal activity and this Week of Action is to further continue that good work.
"Thanks to assistance from the general public and locally gathered intelligence, we have a considerable number of new leads which will enable us to catch and convict a number of criminals who have so far evaded arrest.
"Our message is that criminality will not be tolerated. We are committed to reducing crime, anti-social behaviour and bringing offenders to justice."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
