A GLOSSY magazine celebrating science is hot off the press thanks to the efforts of budding media magnates.
A teenage team of five from Wensleydale School produced the 12-page magazine in six days, working after school.
It will be distributed among eight feeder primary schools in the Yorkshire Dales.
Engage was written, designed and produced to celebrate the school's science status and also included advertising secured by the students to subsidise the cost.
Year ten pupils tackled the 1,000 circulation A4 project after the science college secured funding.
They worked with professional journalists on the magazine which contains news, features, picture spreads and competitions.
The editorial team comprised: editor Harriet Orkney, 15, of Carperby, news editor Alice Milverton, 15, of Hornby, near Bedale, picture editor Sarah Ramsey, 15, of Leyburn, chief designer Hollie Burne, 14, of Leyburn, and advertising manager Sam Woodward, 14, of Leyburn.
Administrator Gill Murphy said the aim was to celebrate the school's first year as a science college.
"We have done such a lot in the first year and I wanted to capture this in a high quality magazine," said Mrs Murphy.
"The editorial team of volunteers has shown a great deal of commitment in producing such a magazine to very tight deadlines. It really is something we can all be very proud of."
Picture editor Sarah Ramsey, said: "It has been a fantastic experience because the project has been true to life.
"Working to deadlines has been pretty stressful, but once you see the finished product you know it has been worthwhile."
