A HOSPITAL physiotherapist could be jailed for a campaign of domestic violence against his then partner.
Nigel Bondswell, 43, who worked at South Tyneside District Hospital, yesterday admitted six charges of common assault against the same woman, who is no longer his partner, during a short hearing at Newcastle Crown Court.
All six attacks took place at his home in South Shields between May and November last year.
No further details were given during the short hearing and the case was adjourned for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
A psychiatric report has already been prepared in his case.
Judge John Evans told him: "Although it is a comprehensive psychiatric report in this case I think it appropriate there be a pre-sentence report so I'm going to adjourn this case."
Bondswell has been granted bail but he must live outside of South Tyneside as part of his conditions.
He will be back before the court on November 1 to learn his fate.
