A FARMERS' market in Barnard Castle will have a fruity theme, as eggs, chocolate and, above all, apples collide next month.
The producers' market, held on the cobbles, in Barnard Castle, on the first Saturday of every month, will next take place on Apple Day. As well as apple-related products on the stalls, a guest chef, Nick Copson, from Teesdale School will rustle up gourmet treats.
October is the month when the food world celebrates chocolate week and British egg week, so organisers are planning to celebrate all three.
Emma Percival, of Kingfisher Eggs, said: "We are going to hold a triathlon for the stall-holders.
"It will involve an egg and spoon race, apple bobbing, and some sort of chocolate game.
"Hopefully the stall-holders will get into the spirit of things and it should be good fun, and messy.
The market will be open from 10am until 4pm. For more information, call Kingfisher Farm on 01833-621344
