A TEENAGER has been killed in a car accident on Teesside today.
The 19-year-old girl was flung from a car as it spun out of control and crashed into trees on the edge of Eaglescliffe.
The girl, who has not been named, was a passenger in a Citroen AX being driven by a 17-year-old youth, who escaped with lacerations to his head and shock.
She was rushed to the University Hospital of North Tees at Stockton, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Cleveland Police, who are investigating the collision, say the driver lost control of his car as he travelled along Durham Lane from the A66 at 2.45am today.
The accident happened 50m south of Cowley Moor Farm.
Police say the vehicle careered across the road, clipping a road sign which caused the car to spin round and collide with trees.
Witnesses should ring Cleveland Police on 01642 301552.
