TEN men and two women were today arrested in a police crackdown on house burglaries.
They were detained for offences including theft, burglary, handling stolen goods and assisting an offender.
Sixty officers swooped on addresses across Middlesbrough.
Detective Inspector Chris Sadler of Middlesbrough CID said: "This action is part of our activity to reduce house burglary within Middlesbrough.
"Breaking into someone's home is a terrible thing to do and we are determined to lock up those criminals who do it.
"I can promise that our activities are still on-going and there will be more arrests to come."
The raids form part of Operation Castle - a drive to reduce house burglary in Middlesbrough.
