FOUR members of Barnard Castle Rotary Club have been recognised for their contribution to the Rotary movement.
Paul Harris Fellowship Awards were given to George Jameson, Mike Hemingway, Frank Ash and Eric Carter.
Mr Jameson is the longest-serving of the four, with almost 37 years to his credit. A retired dentist, he was president of Darlington Rotary, before moving to Barnard Castle.
Mr Hemingway, a former industrial accountant, has been president of both Sedgefield and Barnard Castle Rotary clubs.
Retired hotelier Mr Ash was president of Barnard Castle Rotary club in 1998 and was a key player with the sensory garden project, in Barnard Castle.
Mr Carter has 25 years service and has edited the club's newspaper for the past ten years.
David Yeadon, from Barnard Castle Rotary Club, said: "Like most clubs, Barnard Castle Rotary have always been sparing in making these awards, and making fours awards at one time signifies the club's acknowledgement of Rotary membership of the highest standard and dedication."
Barnard Castle president Margaret Brown made the awards.
