A patient brandished a knife in a doctors' surgery after becoming frustrated about her treatment.

Sarah Charlton had the blade hidden up her sleeve when she turned up for her appointment at Marsden Road Health Centre in South Shields on June 20.

Newcastle Crown Court heard how the 24-year-old became aggitated and aggresive before producing the blade.

Charlton, of Farding Square, South Shields admitted affray.

Charlton will be sentenced after the preparation of reports.

Defence barrister John Wilkinson told the court how Charlton had become frustrated after seeing 10 different psychiatric nurses within a short space of time.
