RESIDENTS of Ripon are invited to celebrate the United Nations International Day of Older People.
Ripon Festivals has joined with Ripon city and Harrogate borough councils to mark the event, on Monday.
The Salvation Army centre, in Lead Lane, is offering lunch, from noon. Places can be booked by calling Steve Noble, on 07767-336707.
On Tuesday, Ripon YMCA, in Water Skellgate, is hosting free bingo, from 3pm to 5pm.
The Ripon RAF Association is holding a coffee morning, from 10am to noon in the town hall, next Wednesday.
Holy Trinity Church is offering a three-course lunch, on Thursday, October 4, from noon, with prices ranging from £1 to £4. Places can be booked on 01765-600633.
On the same day, a tea party, at Ripon Community House, will be hosted by Age Concern Ripon. There will be free coffee and biscuits plus an art exhibition and raffles, from 2pm.
The Ripon Operatic Society is presenting There's a Song in my Heart next Thursday, from 7.30pm. It takes place at Ripon Bowling Club, in Boroughbridge Road, with tickets costing £8, from 01765-606384.
Finally, Holy Trinity Church, Trinity Lane, is hosting a tea party and old-time music hall event. It takes place from 3pm to 5pm on Saturday, October 6. Booking is required, on 01765-605648.
