A DRUNK burglar who stole goods from a boarded-up house after a party has been jailed for 18 months.
Graham Kelly was among three men to take goods from the home, including a children's bike wheel and a Scalextric set.
Kelly, 22, and Paul Beckett, 19, had both pleaded guilty to the burglary, in Inglewood Close, Middlesbrough, on July 19.
Neither man had any recollection of the events.
Teesside Crown Court heard yesterday that the pair, and another man, had been to a party at Kelly's house.
They went to the house in Inglewood Close, which was boarded up because the owner was moving house.
Police were called and saw the men walking away from the house carrying bags. Their take included ornaments, jewellery and mobile phone chargers.
Nigel Soppitt, mitgating for Kelly, said: "He was severely intoxicated, not just by drink, but because he had had his drink spiked. He has no recollection of what happened on that night."
Kelly also admitted breach of a suspended sentence, given for a previous burglary.
Warren Grier, for Beckett, said: "He is a young man who has suffered from epilepsy since he was two years old. He is on medication daily. Alcohol and the medication do not mix. He found that out on this night."
Kelly, of Cinderwood, Middlesbrough, was jailed for 18 months, including 15 months for the burglary and three months from the suspended sentence.
Beckett, of Roworth Road, Middlesbrough, was given a 12-month community order.
A third teenager has already been sentenced in Middlesbrough Youth Court.
