You either loved him or hated him; but now he's gone, everyone will miss him. Jose Mourinho may have made as many enemies as he did friends in England but he will leave a lasting legacy on everyone.
The announcement that Chelsea and Mourinho were parting company, made very early on Thursday morning, shocked the world of football. He had won two premier League titles, two Carling Cups and the F.A Cup in his three year spell at the club; a record most other managers would sell their top players for. This makes his dismissal even more mind-boggling.
From introducing himself as a top manager' and the Special One' he has continued to entertain fans around the world in his press conferences, in a way his team failed to do so on the pitch.
He took only one season to turn his expensive superstars from nearly men to the real thing and brought the title back to Stamford Bridge for the first time in 50 years. He broke Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger's nine year stranglehold on the Premier League trophy. He turned players such as John Terry, Frank Lampard and Joe Cole from promising players into world class stars.
For this, he gained the respect of most football fans across the country. Even those who said they despised him secretly admired what he had achieved, and these fans will all want to wish him the best of luck in all his future endeavours.
