A ONE-DAY green festival near Bedale has been hailed a success.
More than 200 people attended the event at Newton-le-Willows, organised by the local Climate Change Group in the village hall.
They received advice and information on a range of issues, including composting, recycling, energy-saving, water reduction, cutting car use and the effects of climate change.
One of the attractions of the festival was an energy bike, which had to be pedalled to light up different bulbs, and a free raffle provided green prizes worth hundreds of pounds.
The highlight was a concert when children played instruments they had made from household rubbish.
