MEMORIES of traditional gardening and uses for plants will be shared during a project aimed at passing on knowledge before it is lost.
Methods of growing and using plants have been passed down through the generations in the Yorkshire Dales for centuries.
Now, people are being urged to share their knowledge and experience with others at a series of events this weekend.
The garden memories project grew from the Seed to Sheep scheme, which is running at the Richmondshire Museum, in Richmond.
It has developed into other garden-related activities run by organisations in the dales.
On Saturday and Sunday, six venues will host displays and encourage people to share memories of gardening, plants and their uses. Venues are national park centres at Reeth, Aysgarth Falls and Malham, the Dales Countryside Museum at Hawes, the St John's Centre at Catterick Garrison and Richmondshire Museum, all from 10am to 5pm.
