A WEBSITE offering information for children and those who work with youngsters has gone online.

Stockton Borough Council's children's and families information service has created the site, called Children's Services Directory, at http://stockton.childrens service directory.org.uk

The site contains information and contact details for organisations and groups as well as sport and leisure opportunities, things to do, places to go and health and family issues.

For parents and carers there is information about schools and training, childcare and a variety of advice and guidance on topics such as money matters, disabilities, special needs and support groups.

The practitioner zone contains information about national and statutory agencies as well as activities, advice and guidance.

The council's cabinet member for children and young people, Councillor Alex Cunningham, said: "Already there is a huge amount of information on the website giving lots of information for parents and carers with toddlers, schoolchildren and right through to teenagers who want to know more about further education, volunteering in the community and training for jobs.

"There's already a lot of easy-to-access information on the website and it will grow and grow over the coming months.

"We'll also be making sure that the site appeals to all ages when we ask children and young people their views on what they would like to see improved."

The website is also seeking comment from its users, with a section to provide feedback on how useful or informative it has been for the user.
