A PENSIONER died of a heart attack after burglars tried to break into her home.
The family of Rosina Smith said the shock of finding her home targeted by burglars caused her death.
Mrs Smith, from Nether Poppleton near York, was taken to hospital the evening after the attempted break in. She died two days later.
"It's very tragic," said a neighbour who didn't want to be named. "I was away, but my husband was here at the time when it happened. I decided to come back because was what had happened."
She said a young man had seen two youths leaving the drive of Mrs Smith's house and he had come over and spoken to her husband.
"They broke the kitchen window at the back, apparently, and the alarm went off. We are absolutely gutted."
