A WOMAN walking a 'rather large' St Bernard dog was rescued after suffering a knee injury when her dog bumped into her, knocking her over.
Ambulance crews were called to Errington Woods, near New Marske, just after 9pm last night, Monday, to rescue a young woman who had fallen.
Volunteers from Cleveland Mountain Rescue were also called out to help paramedics reach her.
A spokesman for the team said: "The local woman had been walking her rather large St Bernard dog when it bumped into her, injuring her knee. Team members were involved for about an hour."
He said 18 volunteers attended the initial incident, with more on the way throughout the incident, along with the team's two Land Rover ambulances.
She was given pain relief and carried about 400m in a stretcher to the waiting North East Ambulance Service on a nearby road.
