A TEACHER called Rich is £100,000 better off after scooping the jackpot prize on a National Lottery scratch card.
Kelly Rich, 31, from Billingham, near Stockton, struck gold with a £1 Green Edition card she bought during her lunch hour last Wednesday.
The lucky card came from the Tesco Express store at the Bluebell Garage, in Acklam Road, Middlesbrough.
Ms Rich said: "I'd gone out at lunch time to buy a sandwich and decided to buy a scratch card.
"I didn't realise I had won at first, because I had two £16s and was hoping to get a third. Then I saw there were three £100,000s.
"I just started shaking and ran up to my colleague to show her the card. She said it wouldn't be a winner because they were not in a straight line, so we went back to work. I showed the card to some of the business teachers at Acklam Grange School and they said I should ring Camelot, who confirmed it was a winning card.
"My students started screaming and going mad and everyone was hugging me. A 12-year-old lad even asked if he could have a date."
Ms Rich is now planning a trip to Disneyworld, Florida, with her partner, Andrew Dillon, and daughters Georgia Mae, nine, and five-year-old Emily Rose. She also plans to pay off the outstanding money on the new car she bought recently.
She said: "I only buy the cards once in a while, and the most I have won before is £20. It's a fantastic win, and I'm really looking forward to sharing my good fortune with my family.
"My brother had to have a bone graft after he had a motorbike accident not long ago, so it will be nice for him to have a holiday."
Ms Rich said her elder daughter had designs on a trip in a Ferrari stretch-limousine as part of her forthcoming birthday celebrations.
"The ordinary pink limo is not good enough for her now," she laughed. "My youngest is still telling everyone we've won £100. She doesn't quite understand it yet."
