students who designed outfits for a ball helped to raise more than £2,500 for charity.
The creative pupils at Yorkshire Coast College, Scarborough, entered a Ryedale District Council competition that saw them design outfits for a ball with the theme Flights of Fancy.
The winning pupils were treated to a free balloon ride over the area by the district council.
The funds raised by the project will be split between the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team and the Children's Foundation.
Councillor Natalie Warriner, who organised the event, said: "The event was a huge success - delivered by young people who excelled in everything they did. I would like to thank them for their efforts in making the Flights of Fancy Ball so memorable."
