THE fire service attended the scene of an accident to rescue a trapped woman from her car following a three-vehicle collision.
The incident happened at about noon at the Newton Cap Viaduct between Bishop Auckland and Toronto in County Durham.
Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue are released the woman using hydraulic cutting equipment.
She is being treated at Darlington Memorial Hospital for suspected spinal injuries.
The road on the Newton Cap Viaduct from Bishop Auckland to Toronto has now been cleared.
