AN entrepreneur, a singer and an actress will be the guests at a charity ball.

Chapters Hotel and Restaurant, in Stokesley, North Yorkshire, have organised the event to raise money for the holistic cancer care centre at The James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.

The charity ball, at Middlesbrough Football Club on Friday, October 26, is called A Touch of Class, and will be hosted by Century FM radio presenter Judie McCourt.

Entrepreneur and star of the BBC show Dragons' Den, Duncan Bannatyne, will be auctioning items including tickets for a Middlesbrough home game, an Audi soft top for the weekend and Take That concert tickets.

Also attending will be actress Elizabeth Carling, and Fame Academy singer Alistair Griffin will also be making a guest appearance.

Other entertainment will be provided by the Tiller Girls and a live jazz band. There will also be giant Scaletrix track and casino tables.

Heather Goodwill, acting manager at the holistic cancer care centre, said: "The centre is a charity which relies upon voluntary donations to provide the valuable services offered to our patients.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Steven Bell (the owner of Chapters) for the time and effort he donates to the charity."

Mr Bell said: "The centre touches the lives of many people in the region and is a very deserving and worthwhile cause."

It is hoped other local businesses will support the event by offering sponsorship and donating auction prizes.

Tickets and sponsorship packages for the event are still available.
