VIOLET PARR, a supporter of Winston Produce Show since it started more than 20 years ago, took the main honours at the annual event, which was voted a huge success.
She took the Chrissie Swindle Memorial Plate for the most points in the show.
She was also awarded the Vera Featherstone Trophy for bakery, and the President's Cup for most points in the vegetable and flower categories.
Jonathan Risbey repeated his success of last year by collecting the Thomas Nesbitt Trophy for highest points in the vegetable and flower sections. His produce was praised by the judges, who were impressed with the standard in the show.
Helen Wood was awarded the Mabel Scotson Rose Bowl for flower arranging.
Her work was said to be outstanding among several excellent entries.
Margaret Coulthard, another regular winner, took the Ella Cowling Memorial Trophy for handicrafts, and a Wine Circle Cup for photography.
Mona Watson was awarded the other Wine Circle prize, for preserves, while Dorothy Allan gained the Nancy Evans Trophy for the best handicraft exhibit.
A large number of local residents turned out to admire the exhibits, which filled the village hall, and some said they had not seen a more attractive display.
Susan Clarke, secretary of the First Thursday Club which organised the event on behalf of the village, said: "We are delighted with the way it went. There was a fine number of entries and the judges stated that the overall standard was extremely good. The whole show was a success."
