COUNTY Durham Primary Care Trust (PCT) is preparing to hold its first annual meeting following its formation last year.
The meeting will be held at Shotton Hall, in Peterlee, on September 18. Those attending will learn of the trust's progress after it replaced a network of local trusts in the county
Its first report will outline the work the PCT has done to bring together health, social services, users, carers and other partners to improve services for local people.
The PCT's chief executive Yasmin Chaudhry said: "A lot of progress has been made and much has been achieved. The majority of staff have now been appointed to posts.''
"The success of our organisation is because of the commitment and teamwork of the people we employ. We are extremely grateful for the continued support and hard work of all colleagues, particularly during a time of such chance and uncertainty.
"I am excited about the future of health care in the area and look forward to the challenges that lie ahead in continuing to improve the health of the population across County Durham."
