ORGANISERS of an annual sheep fair say the event will go ahead, despite the foot-and-mouth outbreak.
Real sheep will be replaced by scarecrow shepherds and animals at this year's Masham Sheep Fair.
A dog show and best-dressed shepherd competition will also be held.
The brewery tours, stalls, children's fair, harvest festival displays, procession and bands will all go ahead.
The fair will take place in the North Yorkshire town's market square on September 29 and 30.
A show that was revived seven years ago after an absence of more than a century, has been cancelled for a second time because of foot-and-mouth restrictions.
The Langdon Beck sheep show, in Upper Teesdale, was due to be held next Saturday.
Stokesley Show will be held on September 22, and Nidderdale Show will be on September 24, not today and Monday, as stated incorrectly in The Northern Echo yesterday. We apologise for the error.
