COUNTY Durham Primary Care Trust (PCT) is preparing to hold its first annual meeting, following its formation last year.
It will be held at Shotton Hall, Peterlee, on Tuesday, when those attending will find out what the trust has accomplished since it replaced a network of local trusts.
Its first report will outline the work the PCT has undertaken to bring together health, social services, users, carers and other partners to improve services for local people.
On the eve of the meeting, the PCT's chief executive, Yasmin Chaudhry, said: "A lot of progress has been made and much has been achieved. The majority of staff have now been appointed to posts.''
She added: "The success of our organisation is because of the commitment and teamwork of the people we employ. We are extremely grateful for the continued support and hard work of all colleagues, particularly during a time of such change and uncertainty.
"I am excited about the future of health care in the area and look forward to the challenges that lie ahead in continuing to improve the health of the population across County Durham whom we serve.''
