A MEMORIAL plaque has been erected in Crook to honour a community-minded councillor who died in 2004.
The tribute commemorates Councillor Belle Bousfield, who served Crook for 17 years, replaces a tree planted in her memory at Esk House, which was removed after it was damaged.
Coun Bousfield served Crook between 1983 and 1991, and between 1995 and 2004.
The plaque is on a bench opposite Lloyds TSB, in the town's market place.
