COUNCILLORS will be asked to suggest ways in which anti-social behaviour can be tackled in a part of Bedale.
A report is due to go before the town council on Monday with the results of a meeting involving councillors, police and residents and business people in Cascade Court, behind Bedale Hall in North End.
Action is being sought to tackle problems involving boy racers, vandalism, loud radios, alleged drug taking and groups of teenagers gathering in Bedale Hall park from late evening until the early hours.
Cascade Court lies on an unadopted private road with unrestricted access from Wycar, but residents have insisted that steps should also be taken to deter access from North End.
Town councillors agreed last month to a site meeting to investigate road ownership issues and whether signs can be erected stipulating access only for businesses and residents.
Town clerk Richard Howard says in a report to the council on Monday that available powers allow spending on crime prevention and would extend to erecting a sign or a gate.
