A FAMILY of three had to be rescued from rocks after becoming stranded.
The family, including a young girl, were trapped on rocks off Sharpness Point, Tynemouth on Friday afternoon.
Lifeboats arrived on scene and kept a watch over the family who, while being in no immediate danger, were facing a two hour wait in chilly conditions waiting for the tide to drop.
The family were eventually rescued before being returned to Tynemouth Lifeboat Station.
