A record was set when a village leek club held its sixth annual show.
A record 23 members of Crakehall Leek Club, near Bedale, staged entries at the event, which saw George Johns emerge as champion after setting a club record of 179 cubic inches for a pair of pot leeks.
Mr Johns beat defending champion Vincent Irwin into second place. Chris Stubbs, who was champion twice previously, was third and David Pocklington was fourth.
The best leek in show title was won for the second successive year by Mr Irwin, showing a new strain of Stoke Wilton leek.
