A MAN was robbed of £180 as he walked through a town.
The robbery took place about 9.30pm in an alleyway, near Rosie O'Grady's pub in Queen Street, in Redcar.
The 37-year-old man, who was on his way home, was close to the alleyway when he was approached from behind by a man wearing dark clothing and a black balaclava.
The robber, who is described as 5ft 9in to 5ft 11in and well-built, produced a knife and demanded money.
He stole about £180 before running off.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
They are particularly keen to speak to two women who befriended the victim earlier in the evening.
