THE people of Thirsk and the surrounding villages are to get a chance to question crime experts.
Quarterly meetings have been established between the neighbourhood policing team and the Thirsk Regeneration Initiative, a local partnership of town and parish councils, businesses, voluntary groups and residents.
The community and police meetings allow the police to update local people on crime figures and initiatives.
They also give residents a chance to raise their concerns so future priorities can be agreed and monitored by the group. The meetings are open to anyone living in Thirsk or one of the surrounding villages.
The next meeting takes place at Knayton Village Hall on September 26, at 7.30pm. Thirsk's new Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant, Frances Hannan, will be attending.
