STAFF at a DIY store are preparing for an annual fundraising weekend.
Focus DIY, in Consett, will be raising money for the Meningitis Trust on Saturday, with a tombola, raffle, staff in Seventies gear and many stalls.
Isobel Whitby, public relations and website assistant manager at Focus, said: "We raised a massive amount of money for the Meningitis Trust last year by running these fundraising events - reaching a total of £104,000 across the country. This year we are hoping to beat that target and do even better.
"With all of the activities planned for this year, I am sure people will donate lots of money to the cause."
The chain has been supporting the Meningitis Trust for six years and has helped to raise more than £1m, which has been used to fund services including professional counselling, a financial grants scheme and a freephone 24-hour nurse-led helpline.
Meningitis Trust corporate fundraiser, Jane Denley, said: "Focus' fundraising weekend is always a highlight in our calendar.
"Not only does it raise much needed funds, but it is also a great way of connecting with local communities and raising vital awareness of meningitis.
"As it's our 21st birthday this year, we are hoping it is going to be bigger and better than ever."
The event begins at 11am.
