A BUSY pensioners' lunch club urgently needs a cook, and other volunteers, to help at its weekly sessions.
Willington Lunch Club, which has a waiting list to join, meets in the Methodist Church hall, Lydia Street, on Thursdays, from 11am to 3pm.
The club started as a cookery group, in 2002, and has developed into a thriving group of bright and friendly older people, who meet to have lunch, a chat and a game of bingo.
Volunteers cook and serve the meal, wash up and generally contribute to the running of the club, which is affiliated with the charity Age Concern.
Anyone who can help is asked to contact volunteer agency 2D, at Crook Business Centre, on 01388-762220, or Age Concern, on 01388-720064.
