THE killers of PC Sharon Beshenivsky have appeared in court charged with stabbing a fellow prisoner.
Muzzaker Imtiaz Shah and Yusuf Abdillh Jamma, who are both serving a minimum of 35 years for murder, appeared via video link before a judge at Newcastle Crown Court today.
Jamma, 21, and Shah, 26, were charged with unlawfully, maliciously and intentionally causing grievous bodily harm to Tony Roy Piggott, 22.
The assault is alleged to have taken place while all three were in Frankland Prison, Durham.
Jamma and Shah are serving life sentences for the murder of PC Beshenivsky, who was shot dead during the robbery of a travel agency in Bradford, West Yorkshire, in November 2005.
Jailed at Newcastle Crown Court last December, they were told they must serve at least 35 years in prison.
Fellow inmate and victim Piggott is also serving a life sentence for fatally shooting a man on the dancefloor of a nightclub in August 2003.
Jamma, from Small Heath, Birmingham, and Shah, from Kenton, London, will appear in person at their next hearing on November 23.
A provisional trial date was set for January 14 2008.
