ORGANISERS of a community radio station are calling for the help of local people as it prepares to go on air.
Bishop FM goes live on air on Saturday, October 20, and will transmit across Newton Aycliffe, Crook, Spennymoor and West Auckland.
The station co-ordinator has called on would-be volunteers to come forward.
After 18 months of planning, the station will be broadcasting from its new home, at 155a Newgate Street, in Bishop Auckland.
The service will be available on 87.7FM as well as on the Internet.
Michael Fryer, station co-ordinator, said: "Members are delighted at finally getting a permanent base. Everyone is working at making programmes and planning the trial broadcast.
If you would like to get involved, call Mr Fryer on 07917-694 588, or visit the station base
