The Simpsons Movie, bigger, bolder and funnier than ever.
The story line revolves around Springfield being over polluted and encased in quarantine. It is up to Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie to stop the destruction of the town and bring Russ Cargill, the head of the EPA to justice. This is a plot that could be shown in a normal length episode. The movie makes use of the extra time for more jokes and a more in depth look at the characters.
The movie also makes use of the larger freedoms allowed. One such freedom is the technology available, this allows for more content. One usage of this is when the mob is hunting down homer. This makes use of nearly every Simpsons character created. There is less restriction on the content, such as showing Bart's penis.
There are many spoofs in the film, ranging from Grand theft auto (renamed to Grand Theft Walrus) to Star Wars (polar bear in a snow drift). There is even a zombie spoof as well. There are also jokes that adult's will understand, yet kids wont, such as Ned Flanders saying: "Look at that, you can see the four states that border Springfield: Ohio, Nevada, Maine, and Kentucky!"
Over all I think that this film has all the elements of a Simpsons episode, and a bit extra. People who are fans of the simpsons episodes have had mixed opinions on the film, but is definitely a must see for any simpsons lovers.
