Flames 3 v Winlaton Celtics 0 ?

Posted by Ally Seccombe 08/09/07, 10:45 My apologies for an overly concise report this week. The emotional turmoil of Sebastian leaving the Flames has resulted in me forgetting my notes! Winlaton put up a spirited display but succumbed to the Flames' superior team play and firepower. On the scoresheet were Nathan Convery, Joseph Leech and Adam Little. Joseph's goal came as a result of victorious tussle and tackle on the right before firing low and hard into the far side of the goal.

It was good to see Nathan Convery back in the swing of things, and infront of him Shotley Bridge's aspiring George Best, Adam. As for 'The Guvnor', I expect him to spring into life with some terrific goals before long.

Craig and Sebastian were up to the task at the back, as was Cameron later. With Ross languishing in goal in his armchair, the only real threat from Winlaton was posed by their exciting number 2, who enjoyed two brief runs up the left wing.

Joe Meadows and Gavin made an impact later, and the team can look forward to a truly successful season ahead.
