HIT musical Cats is coming to the region in the new year.
Andrew Lloyd Webber's record-breaking show will be performed at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle.
It is one of the longest-running musicals in West End and Broadway history, and audiences in more than 300 cities around the world have seen the show.
Theatre chief executive Philip Bernays said: "Having just launched a hugely successful production of Aspects of Love at the Theatre Royal, I am delighted to announce another classic Andrew Lloyd Webber musical.
"It has been a very long time since the Theatre Royal hosted a performance of Cats but, thanks to our recent building development, including the improved technical facilities, we can now accommodate a show of this size and scale."
Cats will be staged at the theatre from Tuesday, January 29, to Saturday, February 16.
Tickets are £10.50 to £33.50, on 0870-905-5060 or online at www.theatreroyal.co.uk from Monday.
